Gauri Khan was born in Delhi to Savita and Colonel Ramesh Chandra Chhibber, who belong to Hoshiarpur. She grew up in Panchsheel Park and attended Loreto Convent School and Modern School Vasant Vihar in Delhi. She graduated from Lady Shri Ram College with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in History. She also studied fashion design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology and learned tailoring from her father’s garment business.

Gauri Khan is an Indian film producer, fashion designer, and interior designer. In 2002, she and her husband Shah Rukh Khan founded the film production and distribution company Red Chillies Entertainment. Gauri is the co-chairperson and main producer of all the films produced under the banner. She designed a fashion collection named ‘Cocktails and Dreams’ for Satya Paul in 2016. Gauri is interested in interior design and started her own interior design company, ‘Gauri Khan Designs,’ in 2017. She has collaborated with various international artists and was awarded the Excellence in Design Award at the Hello! Hall of Fame Awards in 2018. Gauri is known for being media-shy but has appeared on the cover of Vogue India twice and walked the ramp with her husband at the HDIL India Couture Week in 2009.
