Hrithik Roshan appeared in several films throughout the years, including Krrish 3 (2013), which grossed ₹3.93 billion (US$49 million) worldwide and in which he played three different characters. He received consecutive Filmfare nominations for his performances in Krrish 3 and Bang Bang! (2014), which was one of the most expensive Bollywood films and earned ₹3.4 billion (US$43 million) in global ticket sales. Roshan’s portrayal of a farmer in Mohenjo Daro (2016) earned him a record-breaking remuneration of ₹500 million (US$6.3 million), but the film was a commercial failure and received negative reviews.
Roshan’s performance in Kaabil (2017) received positive reviews, and the film accumulated ₹1.96 billion (US$25 million) worldwide. After a two-year absence from the screen, Roshan starred in Super 30 and War (2019), which grossed ₹2 billion (US$25 million) and ₹4.75 billion (US$59 million) worldwide, respectively.
