He was adopted by Mehboob Khan, the founder of Mehboob Studios and a Bollywood filmmaker. He acted in a few Indian movies, including his father’s Oscar-nominated Mother India (1957) and Son of India (1962). Later, he achieved more success abroad by working on international productions in the UK, the Philippines, and North America, notably Maya (1966) and its TV version.
