NMMS Scholarship Award
NMMS offers 100,000 scholarships annually, worth INR 12,000 per year or INR 1,000 per month, to selected meritorious students from economically weaker sections of society. The scholarship amount is paid by State Bank of India (SBI) in a single transaction and directly transferred to the students’ accounts through Public Financial Management System (PFMS). The number of scholarships allocated to each State and UT is based on the enrolment of students in classes 7 and 8 and their population in the respective states.
- The students of class 9 receive a scholarship amount in one go, i.e. INR 12,000 per annum, for an academic year.
- The scholarship is renewed every year till the student completes his/her Higher Secondary level of education (Class 12), provided the candidate gets clear promotion into a higher class every year.

Eligibility Criteria For NMMS

The NMMS exam is available to students who completed the seventh grade in 2021-22 with a minimum of 55% for SC/ST and enrolled in the eighth grade in any recognized school during the academic year 2022-23.

Students residing in a residential facility and studying in private schools, NVS, KVS, or Sainik schools are not eligible to apply for the scholarships.
- Candidates whose parents make less than one lakh fifty thousand.
Scholarship Amount
Selected students will receive a scholarship worth Rs. 12,000 per year for classes IX to Intermediate. The scholarship is given to one thousand students in class IX for their continued enrollment in classes X to XII at State Government, Government-aided, and Local body schools. The scholarship amounts to Rs. 1,000 per month.
TS NMMS Application Fee
To pay the exam fee for TS NMMS Exam, applicants must use the SBI collect system which is linked to the online application form 2023. The Director of Government Examinations is authorized by the government to collect Rs. 100 for O.C./B.C. and Rs. 50 for S.C./S.T. as exam fee. The candidate’s parents’ annual income must be less than Rs. 1,50,000/- p.a.

TS NMMS Exam Pattern
Each state or union territory conducts its own test to select applicants for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship. The state-level test comprises two tests as follows:
- Mental Ability Test (M.A.T) – 90 marks multiple choice questions.
- Scholastic Ability Test (S.A.T) – 90 marks covering social science, science and mathematics of class VII & VIII.

NMMS Scholarship Selection Criteria
The NMMS is a scholarship scheme offered by the Central Government, but each State/UT conducts its own selection test for its students. The tests consist of a mental ability test and a scholastic aptitude test, both of which have a time limit of 90 minutes. NCERT sets the guidelines for these tests. How To Apply TS NMMS Registration 2023?
- Open the website www.bse.telangana.gov.in on any web browser.
- Click on the “NMMS” link displayed at the bottom left side of the webpage.
- Click on the “NMMS Application” link to open the application form.
- Enter the User ID and Password (which is your UDISE code) to log in.
- Fill in all the necessary details of the candidate in the application form and upload a photo with a signature. The photo size should be less than 30 KB, and the format should be of an image.
- Upload caste certificates for SC/ST/BC candidates and medical certificates for handicapped candidates by clicking on the browse button.
- After filling in all the details, click on the “Submit Application” button and take a printout of the application. Repeat the same process for each student.
